UAC Minute week of October 1st, 2012

October 1, 2012

Hello,

These are the current affairs occurring at The University Advisement Center (UAC) this week

Spring 2013 Registration Advisement

Students that have earned 30 credit hours or more are eligible and encouraged to schedule an advisement appointment at this time. Students should come prepared to advisement sessions with a schedule proposal that incorporates a minimum of 12 potential credit hours for the upcoming spring semester. Within this advisement session, holds will be removed, in order for this group of students to be prepared to register for spring 2013 courses on their appropriated registration date.

2nd 8 Week Courses

The first day of the 2nd 8 Week term will start Monday, October 15, 2012. The last day to add or change sections for a 2nd 8 Week course is October 19, 2012 by 5:00pm. Consider registering for a 2nd 8 week class if you are below full-time status.  The Waitlist option will be available for students during this part of the term as well. Remember, the Waitlist operates as alternative method to enroll in closed courses. The Waitlist option for 2nd 8 week courses expires on Wednesday, October 17, 2012. Last day to drop a 2nd 8 Week course with a full refund is Friday, October 26, 2012.

 CAPS Study Strategy Workshops

Caps will be offering strategy workshops to help students achieve academic success during the semester. Some of the workshops will include college reading techniques, effective study habits, and test-taking and test-preparation to name a few. Students who are interested in requesting workshops should visit http://caps.unm.edu/tutoring/workshops/request and submit a Workshop Request Form.
