October 8, 2012
These are the current affairs occurring at The University Advisement Center (UAC) this week
There will be no classes in session on October 11, 2012 or October 12, 2012 due to Fall Break. To adjust to Fall Break, UAC will close on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. and will have limited services on Thursday after 12:00 p.m.
Fall Break is a great time for students to further assess their academic planning and take advantage of the down time. Students who have Saturday courses on October 13, 2012 are required to attend. Fall Break solely applies to Thursday and Friday classes.
Students who are interested in taking 2nd 8 week courses need to register now! Students taking 12 credit hours or less should consider registering for a 2nd 8 week class. These courses are filling up fast and students should begin searching for remaining course offerings at this time, in order to have more schedule options. A useful way to search for 2nd 8 week courses is by visiting http://schedule.unm.edu/. The 2nd 8 Week term will start Monday, October 15, 2012. The last day to add or change sections for a 2nd 8 week course is October 19, 2012 by 5:00 p.m.
Don’t wait! Students should not wait until registration opens to see an advisor since your wait time might be up to three hours long. All students in University College have an advisement registration hold each semester. Students have a much better chance of getting the schedule they want by taking the initiative towards building schedule proposals early on and seeing an advisor now. Students in University College can request an appointment through http://advisement.unm.edu/.
Take part in multiple events during Freshmen week, which is from October 15, 2012 through October 19, 2012. There are chances to discover new resources, visit with UNM different departments, and win prizes. For more information, please like "the Class of 2016” on Facebook page or contact the Dean of Students Office at 505-277-3361 or email hkells@unm.edu.
