Since the Spring of 2002, Scott has been a peer advisor, a mentor, and a coordinator through the University College Advisement Center. As a continuing student, Scott is regularly inspired by the initiative and innovation demonstrated by the students in the BUS program.

The newest Advisor for University Studies, Mariah returns after graduating from B.U.S. in 2002. She previously spent a year as a Team Leader in AmeriCorps in the Southeast Region of the U.S. working on projects ranging from unmet human needs to education and environmental issues. She now hopes to assist in the further growth and development of the program that encouraged her to follow her heart — recognizing the benefits of an individualized course of study.

Denise has been employed by UNM-San Juan Center since 1994
and has worked extensively in administration and
advisement for the College of Education. Her knowledge

assist in growing the B.U.S. program in the Four Corners.

Justine is the B.U.S. advisor for the UNM centers in Santa Fe and Los Alamos.Previously, she worked as an Academic Advisor for Oregon State University and Western Oregon University. She has a Master’s of Education Degree in College Student Services Administration through Oregon State University. She has experience in human services and as a high school English teacher in Japan.

Since the Spring of 2005, Mario has been the newest Advisor for the Bachelor of University Studies for the UNM~Taos, Bachelor & Graduate Programs through Extended University. He has previous experience working with Financial Aid as well as job training and career development programs.
He hopes to assist the traditional and non-traditional students achieve their educational potential and career goals.
