Students accepted to the Field School area required to register for course credits with the University of New Mexico. Upon acceptance, students will be sent further instructions on how to register.

Tuition
Field school is a variable credit course. Please check with your department if they require a specific number of credit hours of field school before you sign up for credit hours. All students will work the same number of hours for the entire field school, regardless of the number of credit hours chosen. The anticipated costs are estimated to be:
Undergraduate
students: $604.20 [3 credits] -$1208.40 [6 credits]
Graduate students: $663.30 [3 credits] - $1326.60 [6 credits])
* Tuition subject to slight increase each year beginning with the summer
semester, and various adjustments in costs are possible. See UNM spring

for details.
Room and Board Fee
$1400 payable to the Department of Anthropology.
Because of the number of applicants for this Field School, we require a $100
deposit from all applicants upon acceptance. Check or money order for the full
amount must be received by May 15, 2008. Send payment(s) to:

Insurance
All participants must provide their own health insurance, and documentation of coverage is required before attending the field school. Summer health insurance can be obtained through the University of New Mexico, Student Health Center (505) 277-3136.
Any University of New Mexico student who was enrolled in the University Student Health Insurance Plan for the full academic year will also be covered during the summer at no additional charge.
If a student does not have health insurance, it can be purchased for about $20 from the Department of Anthropology and will cover the student for the full 35 days of the field school. This fee is in addition to tuition and room and board. Please speak to Carla Sarracino [(505) 277-0194, ajls@unm.edu) about this option if you do not have health insurance.

The total cost of the field school, including tuition and room and board, but excluding insurance fees, is expected to be approximately:

Students at the University of New Mexico should follow the normal procedures and contact the Financial Aid Department. No financial aid is available to visiting students. Visiting Students should consult the Financial Aid Office of their own institutions.
