Would the e-mail be tracked – would only the “return receipt” be tracked and would the user be asked to okay a return receipt?
Answer: The sender can track the status of an email by selecting in the Send Options of an e-mail to receive notification when mail is delivered, when the recipient opens and deletes a message, and requests a reply for a sent item. Sender can also view the status of sent items from the Properties window.
Can I block a sender from seeing if I open or read mail?
Answer: No.
If the e-mail wes selected to expire after a certain time by the sender, would it be removed from the in-box of the recipient if it was opened?
Answer: Only if it was unopened and the recipient is on the same GroupWise mail system.
Can you retracting an e-mail?
Answer: You can retract an email only from those recipients who haven’t yet opened the item.
How many people are going to be able to use GroupWise?
Answer: According to CIRT, GroupWise is slated initially for the 2,500 Oracle Calendar users, but up to 5,000 for the first year. Can easily go up to 10,000.
Can you set up “Cabinets” locally to drag and drop e-mails to your hard drive?
Answer: You can only do a “Save As” to save the messages locally.
Can you archive email?
Answer: You can configure Clean Up options to manually or automatically archive or delete email, phone messages, appointments and tasks to your local drive. When setting your mailbox Clean Up options to automate, an archive directory has to exist on your local drive in order for items to download to your local drive. If the archive directory doesn't exist on your local drive, you will risk losing items in your mailbox.
What is the difference between archive and backup?
Answer: Archive is available when you connect to your mailbox using Online mode. In Online mode, you are connected to your mailbox on the network. You can configure Clean Up options for aged items to download (archive) to your defined local folder and/or delete from your Online mailbox. You can view or drag your archived items to your Online mailbox.
Backup option is available when you are in Caching or Remote mode. In these two modes, a copy of your mailbox is stored on your local hard drive. Changes made in your Local mailbox are synchronized with your Online mailbox when you are connected to the network. The Backup option allows you to backup a copy of your local mailbox to a different local folder. You can view or restore items from your backup to your local mailbox.
Can you set a vacation message?
Answer: You can automate an out-of-the office message by creating a vacation rule. Click on this link for how to set up properly a vacation message rules.
How do you change the font on incoming mail?
From the Toolbar, click on Tools and then select Options. In Options, click on the Envionment icon and the select the Views tab. In the Views tab, there are two options you can select under the Default Read View, Plain Text and HTML. Plain Text veiw displays email messages according to the font type and font size you selected. HTML view displays graphics inside an email message.
How do you import Outlook email into GroupWise?
We have been successful migrating 2000 and 2003 Outlook email, folders, task, and calendar using the free Formative Outlook Migration Pack from Advansys Corporation.
How do you manually check for new mail?
You can press the F5 button on your keyboard. You can also select the interval your GroupWise client receives updates from the mail server. Open GroupWise client. From the Toolbar, click on Tools and then Options. Select the Environment icon, and then the General tab. In the Refresh Interval option, adjust the minutes and/or seconds for refresh interval.
How do you add words to the dictionary?
Click on Tools and then Spell Check. Click on Add when Spell Checker stops on a word you want to add.
Is there a junk mail handling in GroupWise?
Answer: You can set rules to block unwanted email from a user, an Internet domain, and from users not in a personal address book. You can right mouse click on an email and select Junk Mail and then select trust, block, or junk sender. Or you can select Junk Mail Handling. You can also drag the unwanted email to junk mail folder.
