Banner Authorizations - Student Roles

The Banner STAC team has put together a LINK Student Academic Training and Authorizations Key that helps Banner users determine which roles are necessary to perform tasks in the Student/Academic module of Banner.

Use this chart in addition to talking with your supervisor/manager in order to decide what roles you need to request in the Banner Authorization Request in order to meet your department's needs.

Some of the Banner Authorizations require training offered by the Office of the Registrar.  Please read below for more information on these training sessions.  Most of the required training sessions are available through Learning Central.  To view training available through Learning Central, please click on the following link:

Some of the specialized security roles in Banner require training specific for a certain task.  These trainings are scheduled on-demand or on a "as needed" basis.  To inquire about these special trainings, please send an email request to the Office of the Registrar at rst@unm.edu.

Securing Private Data (FERPA) training is a prerequisite to all Security roles in Banner.  This training is  offered either on-line or at a more in-depth Instructor-Led session.  Both trainings are offered through Learning Central.  Passing an exam taken after either of these trainings will fulfill the prerequisite requirement.   The Instructor-Led training sessions are held the second Wednesday and the fourth Tuesday of each month.
