Banner Authorizations - Student Roles

The Banner STAC team has put together a LINK Student Academic Training and Authorizations Key that helps Banner users determine which roles are necessary to perform tasks in the Student/Academic module of Banner.

Use this chart in addition to talking with your supervisor/manager in order to decide what roles you need to request in the Banner Authorization Request in order to meet your department's needs.

On-Demand Special Needs Training

Some of the specialized security roles in Banner require training specific for a certain task.  These trainings are scheduled on-demand or on a "as needed" basis.  To inquire about these special trainings, please send an email request to the Office of the Registrar at rst@unm.edu

Securing Private Data

Securing Private Data (FERPA) training is a prerequisite to all Security roles in Banner.  This training is  offered either on-line or at a more in-depth Instructor-Led session.  Both trainings are offered through Learning Central.  Passing an exam taken after either of these trainings will fulfill the prerequisite requirement.   The Instructor-Led training sessions are held the second Wednesday and the fourth Tuesday of each month.
