The Office of the Registrar provides general and specialized training for the Student Information System (SIS) for those who are new or who are gaining additional responsibilities. Training sessions on both SIS and FERPA are required for general inquiry access. Specialized training for Progress requires attendance at a separate training session. NOTE: This training only covers the IDMS Student Information System through the Summer 2006 Semester. This training will not cover material on use of the new Banner Student System. To gain general access to SIS, you must:
Administrative Systems Security Clearance The Administrative Systems Security Clearance form must be filled out if you need access to the Student Information System (SIS). Only permanent staff or faculty will be allowed access to SIS. Please return this form along with the signed letter requesting access to the Office of the Registrar prior to attending class, or you may fill out the Administrative Systems Security Clearance form at the training session. Training sessions on the Student
Information System are held the first Thursday of each month
in the Registrar's conference room in the Student Services Center, Room 261.
Sessions run from 9:30 until 10:00 a.m. If you wish to attend
a training session, please notify us by completing the SIS Training Sign-Up

FERPA Training Sessions FERPA training is now being taught through Learning Central under the title of "Securing Private Data (Instructor-led)". This required training and the required Exam must be completed within ninety days of taking SIS. If this training is not completed your account will be locked until the required training is completed. The training sessions are held the second Wednesday and the fourth Tuesday of each month.
