International Humanitarian, Stand Out Rugby Player?
Yes this does exist and Croix Thompson fits this profile. For the year of 2005 Croix was a volunteer in the ethnic Bella village of Illikitan. There he participated in weekly radio shows. Croix helped to introduce innovative ways of gardening that can produce a higher yield of crops. Croix also worked with the village leader to establish a mango plantation within the garden. He also worked to secure funding for a one-room school building. As of April of 2006, Croix moved to the capital city of Niamey where he is working to develop the national museum of Niger. One of my projects at the Museum is to open a botanical garden that can promote a scene of relaxation and serenity within the environment of an urban metropolis. In regards to his rugby ambitions, he wants to play in the highest level of rugby in England. He figures that once he makes a team, earn a starting spot, and help that team win, then everything else will fall into place. His first and only goal at the moment is to make a top-level professional rugby team in England. Croix should be able to do this since one of his fellow alumni, Marc West, just made a London squad. Below are photos of Croix in one of his matches. An IRB artilce on the games played is here
