Steps

  1. Identify an argument to argue against as well as its main claim(s).
  2. Examine the facts on which the claim(s)are based.
  3. Examine the assumptions on which the claim(s) are based.
  4. Analysze your potential readers.
  5. Decide if you are writing a refutation or a counterargument or both.
  6. Write the draft.
  7. Revise, edit and proofread.
