Taking the GED

The GED exam is a series of five tests that evaluate all of the information you've learned in your classes, workshops, and tutoring sessions. In passing the exam, you demonstrate your understanding of the skills and competencies required for high school graduation.

The exam itself is administered by the Assessment Center in the Student Services area at UNM-VC. Typically, the exams are offered once a month on three consecutive days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Check-in begins at 8:30 on each of these days, and no exam lasts later than 12:30 PM.

For specific information about the administration of the Official GED exam, call the Assessment Center at (505) 925-8560, or visit the Assessment Center webpage.
