The UNM-VC GED program is a bit different from other programs in the state and it's very different from high school classes. In the Introduction to the GED workshop, we explain those differences to make sure students realize what they're getting into when they sign up for our program. We also talk about the process for studying for and taking the GED Exam so students won't have any big surprises when they get into the program.
In addition, the Intro to the GED workshop includes a tour of the campus and covers important school success concepts like time management, setting goals, and overcoming obstacles. At the conclusion of the Intro to the GED workshop, students will need to decide whether or not the UNM-VC GED program is right for them. Students who choose to continue with the GED program will be enrolled in the next CASAS Assessment session.
