The Adult Education Center offers many different training options to help you prepare for the GED exam, including instructor-led classes, distance learning, and computer based instruction. Throughout your educational journey with our program, you may also choose to participate in one-on-one tutoring and special study groups.
You can find a list of courses and workshops at this link, but you need to understand that this isn't like a class list in high school or most colleges. You can't just sign up for a specific class. Instead, instructors will place you in classes for upcoming sessions at the end of the current session.
Placement in training options is based on a number of factors. We start by looking at your assessment scores, then we work with you to put together a schedule that is based on your learning needs, and that works with your schedule and your preferred learning style.
Returning students need to understand that past and present attendance is also considered when placing you in classes. If you have a history of poor attendance in the UNM-VC ABE program, you may be placed in Computer-Based-Instruction classes for a session.
