Cooperative Education usually provides students with income to assist with college and living expenses making it possible for people to continue their education who could not otherwise have done so.
Co-op can provide the student access to specialized facilities and equipment that are available in organizations but are not available at the college.
While still in college, students can sample a career field before making a commitment to further education in that field.
