    Who Can Subscribe To The List?  
      Anyone who has write access to the Valencia Management System may subscribe.  
       
   

What type of messages will I get?

 
      The VMIS list will be the quickest way for you to know when VMIS will be down for maintenance, fixes, questions and answers, or other relevant information.  
       
    How Do I Subscribe To The List?  
      Individuals can subscribe to the list by sending a message to:
listserv@unm.edu
Leave the Subject field blank.
In the body of message type (with no other text):
subscribe VMIS-L Firstname Lastname
Once the subscribe request is approved, a notification will be emailed to you.
 
       
    How Do I Post To The List?  
      The welcome message you receive after subscribing gives details on the commands to post to the list.

New VMIS users who do have a current UNM Valencia login

  Read the UNM Registrars Confidentiality Information and the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of November 1974  
  Read the Student Records Policy  
  Read UNM UBP 2500-Acceptable Computer Use  
  Read the UNM Valencia Campus Information Security Policy  
  Complete the VMIS portion of the Vmis Access Request and send it to CSS after getting your supervisors signature.  
You will need Adobe Reader 5.0 or greater to print form

New VMIS users who do not have a current UNM Valencia login.

  Read the Student Records Policy

  Complete the New Network User Form and return it to CSS with the VMIS Access portion completed and your supervisors signature. You will need Adobe Reader 5.0 or greater to print this form.

Request VMIS reports or data.
 
Properly submitted requests for information will be completed as CSS/VMIS staffing levels permit.
 
  All reports will be distributed in Adobe pdf format unless the Associate Director/Dean specifies and approves the reason for another format.  
  Download and fill out the VMIS Report/Data Request. You will need Adobe Reader 5.0 or greater to print this form.  
  After filling out the form submit to your appropriate Associate Director/Dean for their approval.  
  The Associate Director needs to send the form to CSS with any notes regarding time constraints  
  CSS/VMIS staff will send an email to the Associate Director/Dean and the requestor with any questions, concerns, foreseen problems and an estimated date for the report to be completed

Procedure for Opening Posted VMIS Data
If you have posted data by mistake, or you need to make a correction in posted data, please speak with your department chair and have them send an email to the VMIS database administrator that contains the following
  The name of the instructor  
  The class(s) and section(s)  
  The weeks that need to be reopened for editing  
This data will help us in our record keeping and tracking of requests. These requests are usually completed in 24-48 hours.
