the Lomas Blvd entrance at UH to the OSI-UH Pharamacy stop. The new
OSI Bldg is on the west side of University Blvd NE, just north of the
UH Pharamacy.)

from Main Campus - take the free UNM G lot parking shuttle from
the Duck Pond to upper G lot. Walk west past the newly expaned Child
Care Center on the west edge of Upper G Lot, and cross University Blvd
NE to reach OSI.)

NO
PARKING ALLOWED During project at 1211 University Blvd NE parking lots
(old VW dealership) near the Zimmerman Annex (on North Campus),
at the annex, or the dirt lot north of the Annex. Hospital Parking will
now be available at the former Elk's Lodge, 1642 University Blvd NE
and the Hospital Shuttle will run a similar service to the new parking
area. Hospital Parking Permits are required to use this lot.
Demolition crews
have transfed annex materials to a new site. They have removed buildings
(#278 and 278A) and cleared the site. Crews have started building the
UNM Hospitals' new Ambulatory Surgery and Imaging Center.
Space at the former
Elk's Lodge has been dedicated to a number of new tenants including:
UNM Bookstore, Zimmerman Annex (CSRW), Surplus Property and UNM Recycling.
The former lodge is just north of the UNM Continuing Education Center
(corner of University and Indian School Rd NE).

Siting: The
Ambulatory Care Center siting, site elevation plan and floor plan for
the Ambulatory Care Center follow. The proposed location is around 1210
University Blvd., NE next to the existing Family Practice Clinic and across
from the UNM Child Care Center. Location and accessibility, including
parking, for patients helped to determine the site.
Project
Cost: $15,200,000.
The project cost includes
construction/site/fees of $8.5 million. About $6.4 million in medical
equipment and furniture, including a new Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine.
Also included in the cost is $300,000 to relocate services and storage
facilities currently on site.
Project Description:
The 38,000 square
foot building will dedicate 9,000 gsf to imaging and 29,000 gsf to out-patient
surgery and to a pain clinic. Imaging components include CT, MRI, Mammography
and Ultrasound. There will be six operating rooms, a pain clinic, a prep/recovery
area and a materials/staging area. The Center will serve pediatric and
adult patients.
