Central Campus Electrical Upgrade Phase 2

Phase 2 is complete. Next Phase 3 starts in Summer 2004.

Project Description

The project constructs a new concrete duct bank with expaned electrical conduit to replace old and undersized electrical service to the central campus. The project originates just west of Girard Blvd NE, and parallels the existing utility tunnel alignment along the south side of Campus Blvd NE. The project also includes branch lines to a number of Central Campus facilities. The duct bank will contain conduit for power, telecommunications and campus network fiber. It will be sized for current and future campus service. Obsolete conduit will be removed from the campus utility tunnels, freeing up space for other utilities. The scope of work also includes adding street lights along Campus Blvd NE, between Redondo Drive NE and Girard Blvd NE.
