DANE SMITH HALL:
The tour begins at the Dane Smith Hall (DSH) circle bus stop on Yale Blvd NE at Roma Avenue. This spot is directly north of the Duck Pond and east of DSH. Walk east a few feet along Roma Avenue and go toward University House.

UNIVERSITY HOUSE:
University House is the official residence of the University President. The original house was built in 1930, but has been remodeled and expanded since that time. The home is listed on the National Register of Historical Places. Over the years it has been a special place for members of the University faculty, staff, and student body, special guests of UNM, and the community-at-large to gather for events and celebrations. Most notably, the entire community is invited to attend the annual UNM traditions of the Hanging of the Greens Celebration in December and the Commencement Day Reception in May. The home, which is appointed with beautiful New Mexican furnishings and artworks, is now used for public and private events year-round.

ZIMMERMAN LIBRARY:
On the south side of Roma Avenue, you will see the northern entrance to Zimmerman Library. Zimmerman Library is the home of the UNM General Library Humanities Collection, the Center for Southwest Research and many other functions.

SOCIAL SCIENCES BUILDING:
On the north side of the small Zimmerman Parking lot you will see the multilevel Social Science Building. It is home to a number of departments including Political Science, Economics, and Public Administration. Continue walking east (towards the Sandia Mts.) and turn left (north) after you get past the Social Sciences building. Now walk north towards the tall multilevel building ahead of you.

From social sciences continue north on Yale past Lomas to the Physical Plant Department. PPD is located west of Yale on Camino del Servicio.

PHYSICAL PLANT DEPARTMENT /LOCKSHOP:
The Physical Plant Department houses many university service functions. The lockshop is on the north side of PPD and has its own entrance and lobby area.

Now turn around and walk back toward the Social Sciences building.

PARISH LIBRARY:
Parish Library is the branch of the UNM General Library System dedicated to business and economics materials. It is located on the first floor and basement levels of this building. The upper levels are composed of classrooms and offices. The doors on the east end of the building connect to the office and instruction areas of the building. The entrance to the library is located on the west end of the building.

Now walk east from Parish towards the smaller, two-story building just south of Las Lomas Road.

ANDERSON SCHOOLS OF MANAGEMENT:
This is the Anderson Schools of Management (ASM) Building. It is the home of the business school at UNM. The ASM Ford Advisement Center is located here as well as the CIRT ASM Computer Pod (lab). Both of these items are located on the first floor.

Now, walk south through the breezeway between the two wings of ASM, turn left and go east to Hokona Hall.

HOKONA HALL:
Hokona Hall is one the larger and more confusing buildings on campus. Hokona means butterfly and like the insect it has many parts. It consists of two pentagon-shaped wings (ZUNI and ZIA) connected by a rectangular middle (the front desk). The western Zuni Wing has been converted from its original use as a student residence hall, to being an office building. The southwest corner of the western Zuni Wing is the primary entrance of College of Education offices located in Hokona Hall. It connects to the first floor. Now turn right and look to the south.

COLLEGE OF EDUCATION COMPLEX:
This is the north side entrance of the College of Education complex. Now turn left, face east and walk towards the middle of Hokona Hall. Turn north and walk up to the middle front doors of Hokona.

The rest of Hokona-Zuni Wing, is a collection of office annexations by various UNM Departments that desperately needed more space. Math, English and various other instructors have offices here on the first, second, and third floors. Use the entrances off of the Zuni Courtyard. The courtyard can be reached from the south side of Hokona, near the middle (dorm front desk.)

RESIDENCE HALL FRONT DESK:
This is the front desk of the residence hall part of Hokona. Go here and ask for directions if you get lost.

RESIDENCE HALL:
Hokona-Zia (the eastern wing) is still a campus residence hall. Dorm residents and their invited guests only please.

UNM POLICE DEPARTMENT:
And yes, there is even more to this complex of three buildings. On the north side, facing Campus and Lomas Blvds NE you will find the UNM Police Department. Also located in this area is a Pizza Cafe and Pool Hall, the Cellar Ballroom and Theater. These areas are all reached from the Ground level on the north side (basement level relative to the south side.) Enter Itsa Pizza using the door under the blue canopy.

UNM POLICE STATION:
This is the entrance to the UNM Police Station. Go here to claim stuff from lost and found, to file a police report or register your bicycle. All UNM Police officers are graduates of the State Police Academy in Santa Fe, and are fully certified as Peace Officers by the State of New Mexico. They are also deputized by the Bernalillo County Sheriff and have jurisdiction over all of Bernalillo County.

RESIDENCE HALLS:
Now go east from Hokona Hall. You are now entering the residential part of the main campus. On your left (north) you should see Santa Clara Residence Hall, and on the right (south) the many separate apartment units of the Student Residence Center (the SRCs). Continue east to the SRC Commons Building.

STUDENT RESIDENCE CENTER:
The Student Resident Center Commons Building (the SRC), was completed in 1994 and serves as a 24-hour help desk for all campus residents and others. If you get lost, there is always someone on duty at the desk that can help you. Dorm residents pick up their mail here and the C-store has variety of goods for sale. A computer lab for campus residents is available upstairs as well. The SRC is also the front desk for the SRC apartment complex. Now walk north from the SRC across the plaza toward the eastern side of La Posada Dining Hall.

LA POSADA DINING HALL:
La Posada Dining Hall (La Po) is where dorm residents with prepaid meal plans eat. The facility features a multitude of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is open to all UNM students, faculty and staff. All meals are all-you-can-eat, served in a recently remodeled food court setting. The second floor contains the offices of UNM Housing and Food Services Department, including the Housing Reservations payment counter. Take the glass elevator up.

Now exit via the east door and look east. You should see a wonderful view of the Sandias.

ALVARADO RESIDENCE HALL:
Additionally, you can see Alvarado Residence Hall at the corner of Campus Blvd NE and Redondo Drive East. You can also see Santa Clara Residence Hall, which is just southeast of La Posada Dining Hall.

From the east La Posada entrance, walk north down the steps to Campus Blvd. NE. Cross using the crosswalk and....

Continue heading north along the path passing by the eastern edge of the University Hospital/campus resident parking structure (Structure Parking passes only).

COMPUTER INFORMATION RESOURCES TECHNOLOGY BUILDING:
On the northeast corner of the parking structure is the Computer Information Resources Technology Building (CIRT). Go north through the set of four glass doors and turn left. The entrance to the CIRT POD is right there. This facility is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week during the spring, fall and summer semesters. (It does close for about 30 minutes late at night so the rooms can be cleaned and the machines serviced). Closure hours vary from semester to semester. There is always at least one student computer consultant (SCON) on duty to assist you with the machines. They restock the free laser printer with paper, help you when your computer crashes and to check your student ID (LOBO Card) when you walk in the door. This facility is reserved for UNM students, faculty and staff only. Your Tuition Dollars at work.

AND THERE YOU HAVE IT!
This concludes tour 3 of 3. To get back to Dane Smith Hall (DSH) walk south to Campus Blvd and then go west back to Yale Blvd NE.
