New WS Faculty Joint Appointment: Linda Biesele Hall

Professor Hall has been on the faculty of the UNM History Department since 1986; she was a visiting faculty member to UCLA in 1994. She has authored Alvaro Oregon: Power and Revolution in Mexico 1911-1920 (Texas A&M University Press, 1981) and Mary, Mother and Warrior: The Virgin in Spain and Latin America (University of Texas Press, 2004), along with many other books and articles. She is now working on a book entitled "Dolores del Rio: Icon of Beauty in Two Cultures." She regularly teaches "Beauty, Body, and Power" for History and Women Studies, and she has just been named as the chair of the Gender/Women section in the History Department. We are pleased to have her as a faculty joint appointment!
