Application for Graduate and Teaching Assistantships, 2011-2012

The Women Studies Program is seeking applications for Teaching Assistantships and Graduate Assistantships for the 2011-2012 academic year, from students in any department at U.N.M. interested in working within the fields of gender studies, feminisms, queer theory, or sexuality studies. Preference for these positions will be given to students working on a Graduate Certificate in WMST and/ or with an academic background in Women’s Studies or a related discipline. Each T.A. independently will develop and teach one core course to undergraduates in the Women Studies Program each semester. Priority for these positions is given to Ph.D. students who are A.B.D. Please provide sample syllabi and evidence of your abilities to teach specific courses to our undergraduates with your application. Graduate Assistants will be assigned to assist a faculty member for ten hours weekly during the fall semester and usually will teach a core course in the spring; currently, we seek a G.A. with a background or interest in women’s health and health policy. Contracts for all graduate student employees in the Women Studies Program include tuition remission, a stipend and U.N.M. health benefits.
