Here I put some articles that were written in classes or as a result of groupworks, about random stuff:
My project report for the Nonlinear Dynamics class I took. It is about Kuramoto Oscillators and synchronization phenomena. Synchronization is a very interesting phenomena especially in the context of biology and complex systems. The book written by Steven Strogatz "SYNC" is an excellent popular introduction to the subject, I think.

A Review On Synchronization Through The Kuramoto Model

Here is the project report I wrote for the Quantum Optics class. It is about inhibition of spontaneous emission in cavities. I think this is a very interesting topic. It seemed counterintuitive in the beginning but I think thats because I did not understand the concepts very well. Now I have a little bit better understanding. But quantum mechanics is pretty counterintuitive at times. And I am not a huge fan of pragmatism.

Modification of the Rate of Spontaneous Decay Inside a Cavity (Review)

The following is the article we (me, Andrew Paek, Yuping Zhang and Nicole Smith) wrote as a project report at the 2007 Complex Systems Summer School in Beijing:

Can coupled circadian oscillators be entrained with light?

My contribution to the power law hunt, for your amusement only. I know that fitting lines in loglog graphs does not mean much.

How Much Sound is There in the Alphabets?

The following is a popular review of an article about solving a problem related to an alpine mummy. It is about the use of some techniques to find out about details of the life of someone who lived over 5000 years ago!

Note: Most of these things had to be written very quickly in order to match deadlines :) so there might be many errors, especially in language..
