Determine which is the most BIPHASIC LEAD (equal distance of R and S wave) of the PRECORDIAL LEADS (V1, V2, V3, V4, V5, V6) |
1) Identify the R Wave Transition Lead (most equal distant biphasic of R wave to S wave) |
2) Classify as either Normal, Early or Late (Normal is V3 and V4; Early is V1 and V2; Late is V5 and V6) |
3) Question: What if V1 is the transition lead? How would you classify? Answer is EARLY |
4) Question: What if V6 is the transition lead? How would you classify? Answer is LATE |
Example Below: V4 is the most equal distant so V4 is the Transition Lead: Classification is Normal |
