Introduction to UNM ART/ARTH 101 Online

Art is one of the many ways we express ourselves. Art is a chronicle of history and a means to understand other cultures. This course offers a broad introduction to the nature, vocabulary, media and history of art.  Students explore a personal appreciation of art; and the skill of art criticism is developed. This course fulfills the Visual and Performing Arts requirement of the Core Curriculum outline.

Distance Education courses require students to excercise self discipine, use good time management, make use of college resources and to have regular access to a reliable Internet provider to complete coursework online. Students may use their own computer or a computer on campus that offers free Internet access. All coursework is accessed through UNM WebCT.

Set up your NetID with an email address you check frequently and update with other information requested there and complete Orientation Activities, as soon as the course opens up. Attendance is mandatory - meaning you must participant into UNM BlackBoard Learn regularly and keep up with work.

Login to UNM BlackBoard Learn to access help with the college's Content Learning Management System.

The course syllabus, found at the instructor's WebCT course page, contains important course information and policies, course learning objectives, troubleshooting tips and the course calendar, a planner for all assignments, quizzes, projects and exams.

Required Orientation.

Enrolled students gain access to the Instructor's WebCT course website when the course opens for the term. All enrolled students must complete a graded mandatory orientation (set of activities).  All orientation activities are found in BlackBoard, Instructor's Course.
