The object is to prove (or disprove) that Latinas have health outcome rates similar to or even higher than White females despite the fact that Latinas have higher risk factors for poorer health than White females.  These risk factors for poor health include:
  • Lower access to medical care
  • Lower incidence of health insurance coverage
  • Lower Status employment
  • Lower rates of educational attainment
  • High single female head of household
  • Higher rates of unemployment
  • Higher incidence of teen pregnancy
  • Higher number of childrenHigher rates of pove
