Desert Fountain , 1998 (roll over hands to see detail)
On permanent display at the Albuquerque Art Museum, New Mexico
This is not a traditional fountain. To help make us aware of water in the context of the dry southwest, the cast-bronze 'Desert Fountain' flows only when there has been a recent rain or snow, rendering visible the arid eco-system. I designed this sculpture using my own hands as a model to draw attention to our responsibility to pass sufficient clean water from one generation to the next.
