Babicora Polychrome (Babícora Polícromo)

Cat. No. 65.24.35

Diameter: 25 centimeters
Maxwell Museum Catalogue No. 65.24.35
Source: unknown

Typical characteristics of Babicora Polychrome include:

Di Peso distinguished the "standard variant" with bold linework (and occasional textured rims) from a "Paquimé variant" with fine linework reminiscent of Ramos Polychrome.

There is no hard and fast division between Babicora Polychrome and its ancestral type Santa Ana Polychrome. In Babicora Polychromes, the spaces between lines have become wider than the lines. Also, the designs tend to be more sophisticated, involving opposed solds and scrolls as well as multiple lines.
