Catharine's first husband was Jacob Shuman, member of the 126 Pa. Vol. and died Jan., 1863, at New Berne, N. C. She then married the Rev. Jacob S. Wentz, minister in the U. B. Church at Marion, Franklin Co., Pa.

There were three children by the first marriage, surname Shuman:

1. William Alfred, married Susan Leberknight (4 children).
2. Mary Elizabeth, married Samuel Brake, Carlisle, Pa.
3. Barbara Ann, married William H. Richwine, Hatton, Pa. (5 children).

There was one child by the second marriage, Jacob Ervin, surname Wentz.
