Marshall was born on Sept. 9, 1877. On sept. 9, 1903 he married Anna Lee Willis, born Oct. 10, 1873. She was the daughter of David and Elizabeth Ellen (Phlegar) Willis of Floyd C. H., Va. He was educate in National Business College, Roanoke, Va. He lived in tha tcity for several years but in 1910 moved to the parental farm which he is actively working. Both are members of the M. E. Church. Address Salem, Roanoke Co., Va., R. F. D. 1.

They had two children:

1. Marshall Frantz, born Aug. 21, 1904.
2. David Willis, born May 2, 1908.
