Solomon was born Aug. 8, 1864 and "educated in the public schools of his native locality and at Palatinate College, Myerstown, Pa., after leaving which he entered the woolen mills at St. Lawrence, where for 20 years he has been supt., having worked his way up from the bottom, and he now is familiar with every detail of this great business. He was one of the organizers of the St. Lawrence Water Co., of which he is pres. and a director, and is connected with other business interests of Exeter Twp. Mr. Brumbach is prominent fraternally, belonging to St. John's lodge, No. 435, F. & A. M., Excelsior Chapter No. 257, Reading Commandery No. 42, and Rajah Temple, A. A. O. N. M. S. of Reading; and Washington Camp, No. 230, P. O. S. of A. of St. Lawrence."

"Dec 13, 1894, Mr. Brumbach married Margaret Martin Ermantraut, born June 14, 1870; daughter of Joseph Clivis and Mary (Krick) Ermantraut. Mr. and Mrs. Brumbach are consistent members of Schwartswald Reform Church."

They had four children:

1. Mary Ermantraut, born Aug. 1, 1896; died April 9, 1897.
2. Marion Ermantraut, born July 14, 1899.
3. Dorothy Ermantraut, born Nov. 21, 1903.
4. Mary, died.
