PREFACE

Like volumes one and two, volume three of the "I Was There" series is based on actual experiences I have had. As was the case in the first two volumes, some "elaboration" and "exaggeration" have been added at times, either to substitute for some details I don't remember after the passage of five or six decades, or to spice up what otherwise might be a dull story.

The stories in this volume describe some of the things that happened to me during the post-World War I years, 1918-1923.
