Volume 2

Preface

Volume II of the "I Was There" Series is a continuation of autobiographical accounts begun in Volume I of this series.

All the stories in this entire series are based on actual experiences I have had. Some elaboration or at times slight exaggeration of the facts as they happened have been added occasionally, however, to make the events more interesting to the reader, as well as to connect disparate incidents more effectively; but in no case has any substantive change been made in the facts as they took place.

As the title indicates, these stories are firsthand accounts of what happened to me, members of my family, friends, and in a few instances to just slight acquaintances whose paths crossed mine at times in interesting and amusing ways.

These vignettes--or word accounts--have been separately written and do not necessarily have any connection with each other. They are not even presented in chronological order.

I dedicate this second volume to my wife, Marita whose patience and tolerance for me are endless. At the same time, I feel sure she doesn't believe half of what I write in these "I Was There" stories.
