Working with colleagues, I took the lead on a number of projects that included planning and facilitating a budget priorities retreat, writing a self-study requested by the Provost to recommend differential budget cuts (the Provost’s committee recommended an increase in funding for the library), conducting exit surveys accompanied by unobtrusive observation in two libraries, counting and analyzing every reference question asked at every service point in the library over the course of a week in order to recommend changes in service and in training, developing a flagging system to review databases for cancellation due to a pending rescission, and conducting a usability study of the library’s web pages. In addition, I trained librarians in qualitative and quantitative research and collected and reported standard statistics to ARL, ACRL, and NCES.
