Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Facility

Rates:

1) Solution NMR (AC 250):
          H-1 and C-13 NMR (5 or 10 mm)
               $30/hour for the first hour
$20/hour for each additional hour in the same use
$15/hour for additional hours off-peak (6 pm to 8 am)

2) Other nuclei may have a $30 set-up fee

3) The above is for user-run samples. Experiments and spectral interpretation by
the facility director will be double the above fees for the time spent in attendance.

4) In general, access to the lab is severly limited. Only persons who have demonstrated
competance in operating Bruker spectrometers will be allowed to use the facility.
Training is available (on user samples) at the "assisted" rate. The facility is
normally open M-F from 8am to 4:30 pm.

5) Time can be reserved by contacting the facility director.
"Open" instrument time is restricted to chemistry department personnel only.

6) Time reserved will be charged (regardless of use) unless the time is cancelled by 8 am
     the day of scheduled use.

7) Solids NMR (ASX 300):
MAS, CP, or CPMAS $30 first hour, $20/hour thereafter $15/hour off-peak
Cramps or wideline $30/$20/hour plus $50 per session set up fee
          DOR $30/$20/hour plus $50 set-up plus $25/sample
          Triple resonance $30/$20/hour plus $50 set-up
(may require purchase of filters or probe inserts)

8) Again, the solids rates are for samples run by outside users.
Samples run by the facility director will be charged double the above rate.
Note that solids experiments other than simple MAS or CPMAS must be performed
     during facility hours.

9) Requests for instrument time must be accompanied by a purchase order that we can
     invoice against.
