Earth is the cradle of humanity- but should not be its grave.

We need to leave Earth and explore other planets and solar systems. Many of the resources we need can be found "out there" and harvesting them would not pollute the Earth. Having people on other planets would provide assurance that we will continue should something happen to the Earth. Settlements in other solar systems will provide assurance that humanity will continue if something happens to our sun or our solar system.

Going to the moon was a necessary first step. We should never have come back. We need to build a space station, we need settlements on the moon and Mars, and we need to continue to explore the solar system and the galaxy.
