Grades and attendance

A substantial amount of learning in college honors courses takes place in the classroom. If you don't come to class, your learning experience suffers and you deny others the opportunity of benefitting from what you have to contribute. Therefore, in order to get the most out of this educational experience, it is essential that you attend every class. Material missed may never be made up completely, no matter how many notes you get from classmates. Also, because so much of Honors education is the result of what happens in class, be aware that no distinction will be made between excused and unexcused absences (see Policies section #2). For every class you attend in full, you will earn 1/2 point toward your total course grade. Since we have 30 classes, if you attend every class session, you will earn all 15 maximum possible points.
