Paper Presentations
(each 2.5%,
10% of total grade)

Along with writing research and analytical papers, you will also make oral presentations to your classmates on each of your papers. These presentations will be informal and will last no longer than 5 minutes. When presenting on your research papers, identify your topic and the main facts associated with it, discuss any helpful or difficult research tools you used for your paper, and mention briefly any part of your research you found particularly interesting or surprising. When presenting on your analytical paper, identify your general topic and your specific thesis, then read 1-2 pages of your paper that you think best represents your work. As part of each presentation, you will prepare a 1-page handout for your classmates. For the research papers, this handout will include a brief list of the most important factual information related to your topic and your complete bibliography. For the analytical paper, your handout must include your paper's title, thesis statement, a brief outline of your paper's structure, and your complete bibliography. If you provide me with your handout at least one class before the presentations, I will be happy to make copies for you. All paper presentations will be made during the class following the paper's due date.
