Menake Eranda Piyasena

Menake Piyasena is a Research Scientist working in the Center for Biomedical Engineering (CBME) at the University of New Mexico, specialized in developing novel microfluidic based technologies for bioassays useful in clinical, biotechnological, and environmental applications. He is an expert in device and assay development.

He obtained his BSc degree in Chemistry from the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka and then he obtained his PhD in Bio-analytical Chemistry from the University of New Mexico, USA.

His skills and expertise are not limited to Chemistry. He has excellent research and development experience in Chemical Engineering, Bio-medical Engineering, and Biochemistry. Dr. Piyasena has so far authored ten peer-reviewed articles in high impact international journals and a book chapter. He has several granted and pending patents in biotechnology.
