My love of the outdoors extends into most of my life, including both my geologic studies and recreation. I love to spend time hiking, backpacking, climbing and exploring the wonderful outdoors. My husband and I have been lucky to live in and explore many of the wonderful western states on our feet, car, horseback and boats.
Running
I also am an avid runner, and recently had the awesome experience to qualify for the 2012 U.S. Women's Olympic Marathon Trials! I ran a fun 2:44 at the Eugene Marathon (2011), enjoyed [almost] every step of the way, and am excited to be training for the Trials. I ran competitively for the University of Oregon, being a varsity member of the cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams. During college, I was a distance runner, specializing on the 5000m run. After graduating from the U of O in 2005, I have spent most of my time on the roads, where I have participated in several U.S. Women's National Championships, including the marathon (2007), 20km (2010), 15km (2011), 10km (2011, 2010), and several cross country championships (2011, 2008, 2007, 2005) as well as other races around the country and locally within New Mexico. I enjoy training and racing against the top US talent, and look forward to several more years of competition. I encourage an active lifestyle for everyone, so if you have questions related to running or outdoor life in general, I'm happy to answer them as best I can.
I'm looking for sponsorship, so if you're interested in having your logo plastered on my running body for everyone to see, do not hesitate to contact me!
