2nd National Weather Center Biennale

Out of state I have one pastel painting in Oklahoma – at the National Weather Center Biennale in Norman, OK.  The prestigious competition runs from April 19th to June 14th.

2014 Plein Air Painters of New Mexico (PAPNM) Enchanted Lands Exhibit

September 6 - October 26 at the Open Space Visitor Center Gallery.  I managed to get one pastel in this show.    Here's a thumbnail - guess you'll have to visit the show to see a life-sized image!  All the 50 works were done on site and represent work done at open space or state parks.

 

2013 MID-MAY ARTIST in RESIDENCE

I was one of only two 2013 Artists in Residence chosen for at Canyons

of the Ancients National Monument (CANM) in SW CO.

As a follow-up, I had a solo show of my CANM works - OCTOBER 18 - 31, 2013 at Framing Concepts Gallery

-  in Albuquerque.

 The National Weather Center Biennale - April 22 - June 3, 2013

"art's window on the impact of weather on the human experience"

The initial judges selected 100 works from more than 700 pieces

 submitted by nearly 400 artists representing all 50 states and multiple countries.

 

My work that was selected was "Mount Cochetopa Storm", pastel.  The exhibition was held at the National Weather

 Center in Norman, Oklahoma, SPONSORS - The Fred

 Jones Jr. Museum of Art at the University

 of Oklahoma, and the Norman Arts Council.

RECENT SHOWS - 2014

Dallas, Texas Artscape April 25 - 27 - juried arts fair of 60 diverse artisans

29th annual Texas & Neighbors Exhibition May, 2014 - I was awarded Signature Member recognition as I have been accepted into this competition 5 times.  My work was titled "La Cienega Winter
Shadows", Pastel on sanded paper.   It has subsequently been purchased!

 I will host 3 other artisans (Sue Orchant,  Tricia Simmons and Steve Wentworth) - so please make plans to visit PLUS I will exhibit new work I've done.
