Welcome to the 1st Annual Wind Conducting and Teaching Workshop at the
University of New Mexico!

We are excited to present UNM's first Wind Conducting and Teaching Workshop hosted by the Department of Music. We are holding the event at the UNM's Main Campus in the Center for Fine Arts Building.

Levels of Participation:
Conducting Participant: (Maximum number of participants: 18)
Conducting Participants of all levels are welcome. They will work receive instruction and feedback on their conducting from the clinicians while conducting the Workshop Band. Each conductor will receive 10-20 minutes of individualized podium time for three days, plus a private lesson with each of the three clinicians during the week. The week also includes daily topical sessions/presentations, baton technique and exercises, and opportunities for connecting with fellow participants for meaningful discussions about conducting and teaching. Each conductor is expected to perform their instrument in the Workshop Band sessions.
Cost: $575
Student Participant: (Maximum number of participants: 3)
If you are a current undergraduate student interested in participating in the Workshop but are not yet ready to commit to at the full Conducting Participant level, you may register as a Student Participant. You will receive a single opportunity for 10-15 minutes of podium time, as well as a minimum of one private lessons with our clinicians. You will otherwise participate fully in the week’s activities, including performing in the Workshop Band sessions.

Observer Participant: (No Limit)
Observer Participants do not get any podium time or private lessons, but otherwise take part in all aspects of the Workshop. There are an unlimited number of participants who may register at this level.
