Ergogenic Aid Presentation Format

You are encouraged to use graphics in your presentation to enhance the visual quality.

Length of Time
Between 5 and 8 minutes (if less than 5 minutes, points will be deducted). Presentations will also be stopped at the 8-minute time fame. Following each presentation there will be questions from the audience. Any member of the group may answer questions.

Who Presents?
TWO members of the group must do the presentation. The group decides who will speak and allocate the speaking roles.

What Disk Format?
You may bring an IBM formatted disk, CD or IBM ZIP disk.
Bring a back-up disk! Occasionally disks have errors on them that are noticed on other systems.

No Make-ups!
Once scheduled, there will be no make-ups for your presentation if your group is not ready.

Handout for the class
Each group will prepare a ONE-page handout of their presentation for the class. Summarize on one page the main topics listed below in the format. Detailed outlines are acceptable. The handout is due the day of the presentation. Prepare 30 handouts.

Research
You may use the internet, articles and textbooks to do your presentation. Try to use scientific and professional articles versus trade articles.

Format of Presentation
Title Slide
Name of ergogenic aid and the names of the persons in your group.

Introduction, Background and Proposed Benefits
What is the ergogenic aid. Some background on the ergogenic aid. Who may be the population using it (specific athletes, general population, men and/or women, etc). How long has it been in use? What are some of the ‘proposed benefits? Perhaps information on what companies sell it. Perhaps some information on how many people are suspected of using it.

Scientific Information
Review the scientific information on the product and tell the class what is scientifically understood with the product. Often times it is best to look for Review Articles which summarize the ergogenic aid.

Risks
Present all possible risks with the product.

Summarize
Conclude your presentation with a summary highlighting the findings of your research.
