Variation in xylem structure across climate and ploidy gradients
This project was the master's thesis research of Anna Tyler, now a Ph.D. student at the University of Arizona. The focus was on testing the hypothesis that xylem vessel diameter varies across gradients in freezing regime (based on the known relationship between vulnerability to freezing induced cavitation and vessel volume) and ploidy (based on known effects of ploidy on cell size).
