Scholarly Interest
I am Currently working on a Masters in Rhetoric and Writing at UNM with a focus on Pedagogy. My interests within this field also connect with Queer Theory, Gender Studies, and Philosophy (as it applies within Rhetoric and outside Rhetoric; I have a particular interest in Existentialism as presented by Jean Paul Sartre).

Creative Interest
With a BA in Creative Writing, I am always interested in reading and writing, though I hardly spend time on personal writing projects currently. I have also begun working with a colleague on bookbinding.
Background
I have been working at UNM--Valencia for many years. I began
working as a tutor while I was an undergraduate. After earning
my Bachelor Degrees and working in the Virginia beach Public
School System as an Educational Interpreter, I returned to New
Mexico and started teaching in the Adult Education Program
part-time. I have taught Mathematics and Reading and Writing, as
well as English 100 for several years in Transitional Studies. I have presented with colleagues on several occasions at NMAEA (New Mexico Adult Education Association), a statewide conference for Adult Education, as well as NMHEAR (New Mexico Higher Education Assessment and Retention). I have also been involved in several curriculum and pedagogy/andragogy development and implementations as both an instructor and a consultant.
