My main activity in 2010 was organizing, in conjunction with Ian Maddieson and with the
help of many colleagues, the
12th Conference on Laboratory Phonology, which was held at the University of New Mexico in July 2010.
Ian and I are guest-editing two issues of the Laboratory Phonology journal with papers developed from the oral presentations from the conference.
I am also currently serving as Treasurer of the new Association for Laboratory Phonology, which you can join online.
Summer 2011: Dissertations on French prosody
In July 2011 I had the honor of serving on the “jurys” for two students completing dissertations on French prosody:
- Mathieu Avanzi, whose dissertation is entitled L’interface prosodie/syntaxe en français : Dislocations, incises et asyndètes. His dissertation directors were Marie-José Béguelin (Université de Neuchâtel) and Anne Lacheret-Dujour (Université de Paris Ouest Nanterre).
- Amandine Michelas, whose dissertation is entitled Caractérisation phonétique et phonologique du syntagme intermédiaire en français : de la production à la perception. Her dissertation director was Mariapaola D’Imperio (Université de Provence).
