Elias Frederick Mussman, born August 20, 1854, at 112 Robbins Street, Covington, Kentucky, where he spent most of his youth, and was educated in the public schools. He learned the printing trade, serving his apprenticeship at the Elm Street Printing Company, and which occupation he followed most of his active adult life.

He was a member of the Typographical Union from the time he served his apprenticeship until his death, at various times holding different offices in the union.

He married Mary Louise Fox November 4, 1875, at Greenfield, Ohio. Five children were born of the Union.

About 1882 he purchased the Highland Chief, a newspaper and printing office in Greenfield, Highland County, Ohio, which he operated for several years. Injuring his hand, he returned to the printing trade working in newspaper offices until he retired on account of his health.

In 1885 he purchased a home located at 423 Eighth Avenue, Dayton, Kentucky. About 1904 he sold the home and moved to Hyde Park, Cincinnati, Ohio, where he built a house located at 3556 Edwards Road, where he resided with his wife until his death. He died at his home on May 20, 1928. His remains are burried in the family plot Evergreen cemetery, Campbell County, Kentucky. Five Children were born of this union and they are listed below:

1. Viola May Mussman, born August, 4, 1876, Cincinnati, Ohio, died
September 30, 1878, Cincinnati, Ohio. Buried Linden Grove Cemetery.

2. Elias Frederick Mussman, Jr.

3. Minnie Leota Mussman, born Nov. 11, 1877, Cincinnati, Ohio, died
Aug. 25, 1967, Deming, New Mexico. Minnie married Ernest Micheleau
Brumback on October 21, 1896 in Dayton, Kentucky.

4. Walter Scott Mussman, born March 9, 1880, died 1961 in California
after being hit by a car in Deming, New Mexico. He was an artist,
lithographer, and bookmaker

5. Arthur Blaine Mussman, born July 22, 1884, died Jan. 23, 1929 and
is buried in Evergreen cemetery, Campbell County, Kentucky. He was
Clerk of The US Circuit Court of Appeals in Ohio at the time of
his death.
