Minnie Leota Mussman, born Nov. 11, 1877, Cincinnati, Ohio, died Aug. 25, 1967, Deming, New Mexico. Educated Dayton, Kentucky, public schools. Married October 21, 1896, to Ernest Michelieu Brumback at Dayton, Kentucky.

Due to Ernest's tuburculosis they moved to Silver City, New Mexico in December of 1897. Ernest was manager of the Silver City Independent, a weekly newspaper for several years and then became Post Master. In 1922 he purchased the Deming Graphic, a weekly newspaper in Deming, New Mexico. The Graphic was a Republican paper and anti KKK under Ernest. He was the editor and publisher until his death on Jan. 24, 1928.

Minnie was a housewife and mother until his death and then took over as editor and publisher until she sold the paper in 1952. She turned the paper over to her grandson (Lillian's son), Donald Brumback Harris, in 1941-42 while Minnie took care of her ailing mother in Cincinnati. After her mother's death she returned to Deming and Donald entered the US Army during WWII. He became a navagator on a B-24 "Liberator" four engine bomber. He was killed in February, 1944 in a crash during a training flight. Minnie again operated the paper.

They had two children were born Silver City, New Mexico:

1. Lillian Leota, born Oct 20, 1899, died Aug. 8, 1982.
2. Mary Louise, born July 16, 1905, died June 27, 1947.
