SPRING

I was born in the Eastern Transvaal (now Mpumalanga), South Africa .

I am currently a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry and at the Albuquerque High Performance Computing Center , University of New Mexico .

Research Interests

An overview of my research is in the FACULTY BROCHURE

The activities of my research group are on my RESEARCH GROUP PAGE .

Teaching Interests

CHEM 568 : Topics in Quantum Mechanics

This is a Graduate Course in QUANTUM MECHANICS . This course focuses on aspects of Quantum Dynamics . In particular, using computational techniques to understand dynamics in quantum systems is the main aim of the course.

CHEM 567 : Computational Quantum Dynamics

CHEM567 is also an advanced graduate course on Quantum Dynamics . It is a hands-on programming course to solve quantum mechanical problems. Students will learn about advanced quantum techniques, and how to write simple programs to analyse quantum problems like basis set expansion, non-stationary states, etc.

CHEM 501 : Molecular Structure Theory

This is an introductory graduate level course on quantum mechanics. Presented at the level of McQuarrie's "Quantum Chemistry", or Levine's "Quantum Chemistry".

CHEM 311/312 : Physical Chemistry

This is undergraduate physical chemistry. First semester is quantum mechanics/spectroscopy and second semester thermodynamics/kinetics.

Personal Interests

These are the FUN THINGS [apart from quantum mechanics] I like to do.
