President: Molly Maguire-Marshall


Molly is a senior at UNM, pursuing a double major in Speech and Hearing Science and Women's Studies. She plans on becoming an elementary school speech pathologist, and hopes to work with underserved kids, to help the learn to communicate more effectively. She also enjoys running and reading. Molly's favorite memory from NSCS is Relay for Life, and she is very active in the organizations against cancer at the University of New Mexico.

Executive Vice Precident: Diana Elaine Chapman


Diana is a senior, graduating this spring from the School of Medicine, Dental Hygiene Division. After graduation, she will diver right into the Master's program from Dental Hygiene here at UNM> She plans on taking her education and opening dental public health offices in underserved populations adn make an impact in oral health education. This is her second year as VP and previously held the position of Vice President of Community Service. Her favorite NSCS event is Relay for Life. She says it has been her "most fulfilling service project that really came together with the group's effort..."

Co-Vice President of Community Service: Alicia Leibowitz


Alicia is a double major in biochemistry and spanish. After graduation, she hopes to become a doctor and "save the world." When she is not busy organizing NSCS service projects, she enjoys biking. Alicia's favorite NSCS memory is being elected Co-VP of Community Service.

Co-Vice President of Planning for College Success: Bonnie Darsey


Bonnie is pursuing a double major in English and Political Science, with pre-Law concentrations in both. She is a student in the University Honors Program and the Political Science Departmental Honors program. She has learned from working in a law office that she enjoys the legal field, and plans to take some time off after graduating in May, to gain work experience. She plans on attending law school in a few years.

Co-Vice President of Planning for College Success: Tullivan Begay


Tullivan is a junior majoring in Business, with an emphasis in Marketing. She is very excited to be representing Planning for College Success with Bonnie this year.

Historian: Daniel Hopkins


Daniel is a sophomore, pursuing a double major in Biochemistry and Economics. He hopes to attend medical school and become an anesthesiologist after graduation. His favorite NSCS memory is Zoo Boo, where he made many children smile with his fantastic costume.

Webmaster: Shannon Gayle Kinkead


Shannon is a senior, pursuing dual degrees in Computer Science and Psychology. Following graduation in 2010, she hopes to attend medical school, where she will pursue both an MD and PhD. She hopes to become either a neurointensivist, specializing in neurosurgery, or a trauma surgeon. When she has free time, she enjoys ballet, water polo, and swimming, both of which she coaches and plays. Shannon's favorite NSCS memory is the Relay for Life fundraiser at Wild Oats (all three of them!).

Advisor: Michael S. Rocca, Ph.D.


Dr. Rocca is an assistant professor at UNM, in the Political Science department. He earned his B.A. in Political Science from California Polytechnic State University, in San Louis Obispo, California, in 1997, and his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of California, Davis, in 2004. His research interests include the United States Congress, the American Presidency, and the American Political Parties. His future career goals are to be "the best teacher, researcher and advisor I can be!" In his free time, Dr. Rocca enjoys playing tennis, going to the park with his familly, watching movies, going to concerts, discovering new music, and taking vacations by the beach.
