Is the vessel incised?
If YES, and the incising is smoothed over, see Casas Grandes Rubbed Incised.
If YES, and the incising is not smoothed over, see Casas Grandes Incised.
If NO, continue to the next question.

Is the vessel tool punched?
If YES, see Casas Grandes Tool Punched.
If NO, continue to the next question.

Is the vessel neck banded?
If YES, see Casas Grandes Broad Coil.
If NO, continue to the next question.

Is the vessel cord-marked?
If YES, see Casas Grandes Cord Marked.
If NO, continue to the next question.

Is the vessel body covered with small modeled points or knobs?
If YES, see Casas Grandes Armadillo.
If NO, you may not have a Casas Grandes vessel, or you may have a vessel that does not fall into the named types.
