Is the vessel textured?
If YES, and the vessel is painted with broad red lines, see Victoria Red-on-brown Textured.
If YES, and the vessel is painted with narrow red lines, see Mata Red-on-brown Textured.
If NO, continue to the next question.

Is the vessel painted red on the rim only?
If YES, see Pilon Red Rim. If NO, go to the next question.

Are the lines in the design wide or narrow?
If WIDE, see Anchondo Red-on-brown.
If NARROW, go to the next question.

Is the vessel surface polished?
If YES, and the polishing is across the painted elements, see Fernando Red-on-brown.
If YES, and the polishing is parallel to the painted elements, see Pilon Red-on-brown.
If NO, see Leal Red-on-brown.
