September 15, 2004 Meeting Minutes
Hello Everyone!!
Here's a recap of our last meeting:
- Sarah was able to sign up a group of us to
participate in the Aids Walk on Saturday September 25 from 8am-11am. If
you were not at the meeting and are interested, contact Sarah at
sjfb@unm.edu.
- We have a Legacy Lecture coming up on Tuesday
September 21 at 7pm. I will send out an email to those of you who
signed up on Monday as a reminder.
- We have decided to get together as a group to
volunteer at Project Share on a Friday evening. Exact date TBA.
- Lauren is starting up "High School Seniors
Recruitment" again this semester and needs help sending out letters to
local high schools, organizing dates to visit the High Schools, and the
actual visits. We have set up a committee for this and anyone who is
interested can contact Lauren at laurenkh@unm.edu.
- Our Halloween Party has been scheduled for
October 27 (in place of our regular meeting). We will show a
scary movie, have food, and of course a costume contest...oh yeah! :)
- UNM is having an Undergraduate Research and
Creativity Symposium on November 22... Submissions are due November 1.
You can present on your own, with a friend or some of your fellow HSAC

- Ally Hudson talked about a local Women's Domestic
Violence Shelter that is threatened to be closed down if they do not
collect enough funds by October. We can team up with the National
Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) and help out through getting
items on their wish list, helping out with an info booth on campus, or
collecting donations. To help out contact Ally at hudson@nscs.org.
- Finally, our Pot Luck Get to Know You PICNIC is
THIS Sunday at the park on Lomas and Carlise at 1pm. I hope to see
EVERYONE there!!!
